Day 1 : Dien Bien Phu - Muang Khua (B)
Transfer to the Tay Trang border, formalities at the customs and then welcome by the Laotian guide and driver, road to Muang Khua, several stops offer the opportunity to cross some local tribes.
Free time in the evening to enjoy the nightlife of this remote mountain town.

Day 2 : Muang Khua – Muang La (B, D)
Visit the local market and villages in the vicinity and then we embark on a traditional private pirogue that will take us up the Nam Ou River known for its jungle landscapes, its karst mountains, and its small fishing villages.
Transfer to Muang La, visit on foot for 2 hours of authentic villages away from the tourist crowd.

Day 3 : Muang La – Oudomxai (B, L)
Walking tour (2 hours) to discover the villages, the forest and a waterfall.
This walk follows a pleasant road along the Nampak River through the rice fields and remote villages of Laos to meet local farmers who will share their knowledge of cultivating these rich and fertile lands, traditional fishing and hunting. The scenery is grandiose. The primary forest reveals itself as far as the eye can see and the road continues to the top of a small hill to reach the village of Phavie. The chief of the village opens the doors of his house to share a lunch. This exceptional moment will be the opportunity to exchange and discover the customs and traditions of the Khamu ethnic group. The walk resumes to reach clear and refreshing waterfalls for a moment of relaxation.
Transfer then to the city Oudomxai, visit of the city.

Day 4 : Oudomxai – Pakbeng (B)
Transfer to Pakbeng
On the way, we visit the villages of the ethnic groups: Thai khao, Lu, Mong, Laotheung...far from the tourist mass which still preserves the traditional ancestral life.

Day 5 : Pakbeng – Luang Prabang (B)
Visit the local market.
And then we embark on a traditional private junk for a day cruise on the Mekong River to Luang Prabang.
The trip down the Mekong River continues through the karst landscapes and villages along the river. These villages live at the rhythm of the generous and luxuriant nature which surrounds them.
We make a stop to visit a village and meet the local people.
Lunch on board the junk.
Visit of the Sanghai village specialized in the distillation of rice alcohol.
On the banks of the mythical river, carved at the foot of steep limestone cliffs, the sacred Pak Ou caves display numerous Buddha statues. These were left there over the centuries by the Laotians on the occasion of religious festivals. Two caves stand out: Tham Ting, which can be accessed from the pier, and Tham Phun, which is more difficult to access and whose visibility is limited by the lack of light. This cave is a place of worship, among the oldest in this region of Laos. Even today, for the New Year, large families travel to the caves for a Buddha sacrament.
Our cruise on the Mekong River ends in Luang Prabang at the end of the day.
In the evening, we will discover the night market where many villagers come to offer their handicrafts and fabrics that make the reputation of Luang Prabang.

Day 6 : Luang Prabang (B)
Visits to the most beautiful temples and museums. First of all the National Museum, which is the former royal palace built in 1904 under the French protectorate (closed on Tuesday).
Visit Wat May and Wat Manorom, according to local legend it was founded in 1375 by King Sam Sen Thai, visit Wat That Louang, where the cremations of the highest dignitaries of the Royal Family were held.
We will then go to the Temple of Xieng Thong, built in 1560, certainly the most beautiful and the richest temple of the city.
We will then visit Wat Aham and Wat Visoun, the oldest temples of Luang Prabang.

Day 7 : Luang Prabang (B)
Departure for the superb waterfall of Kuang Xi, nestled in the middle of a luxuriant vegetation. Stop en route to visit the fruit market of Talad Phosy, the villages of Ban Na Oune inhabited by Hmong and Ban Tha Pane by Kh'mu. Picnic lunch near the Kuang Xi waterfall. Time to rest in the nature and enjoy the exceptional setting. It is possible to bathe in the water (quite fresh). Return to Luang Prabang and free time.

Day 8 : Luang Prabang – Return Flight (B)
Free time until the transfer by the driver to the airport for your return flight.
